    I guess the title pretty much says it. Is the one worth the considerable price difference? Is there any difference?

    Waste of money. The "pecking order" is Taiyo Yuden, then Verbatim(not the Value Line).

    Solid Advice! I in my youth used budget of the day media to burn with. now 5 years (some as little as a year!) later I am stuck re-burning most of them due to peeling or ink fading. Mostly Memorex and TDK and Sony. I NEVER had a problem with Taiyo Yuden.
    if all else fails read the manual

    Peeling? Are you talking those sticky labels that some people like to put on their discs? Those are a bad idea.

    Nope, I'm talking ink layer separating from plastic layer on the outter edges. Surprisingly The discs that I have used labels on never really had any issues.
