I purchased the Dazzle DM-5000 USB device and it can only capture in QSIF at 512K max. After I capture and look at it as an AVI on the computer, It plays back in the center of the screen with black matting around it. As long as it is small, I don't mind how it looks. I use TMPGE to convert to VCD, but when I do it converts full screen and of course, it looks awful. What I want to do is convert it so the QSIF is small in the center of the TV screen with the black matte just like on the computer (whether it is in Dazzle studio or Media Player). I think I am correct in assuming that if it is converted properly, it will burn OK (I use VCDeasy). Is this even possible?![]()

In TMPGEnc you should select full screen > keep aspect ratio, this will give black borders. Selecting Full screen only, will remove the borders, but at the same time stretch the movie and can chop off the sides.
You can experiment with setting > crop
