I've been googling and googling and am unable to come up with the software/drivers I need to capture the video/audio steam from the box via Firewire. I know it's possible because AVS Noodle works flawlessly with recording it, but is rather inconvenient because the only apple computers I own are an iBook G4 and a Macintosh 128k.
Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be great. Thank you.

Try searching for DVHS firewire capture, all the software I've seen was related to this.

Does not work with 64 bit Windows.
However there is an OS where it does work. OS X.
No drivers to install, no nothing. It really does just work.
