  1. I just downloaded the trial of VMS 10 to capture a bunch of 480i video I have on minidv tapes. It launches another program to capture the video from my camera, Sony Video Capture 6. The clip details show the date/time stamp of the clip. Is there a way to get the clips to either a) have the date/time in the filename without doing it manually or b) have the actual file date set to the clips recorded date?

I would have asked in the VMS forums but you cannot post there without a registered product.

  4. Do you prefer to just extract the movies at type 1 or to merge the video and audio streams in postprocessing?

  5. Well for some reason I am unable to get my camcorder, a Panasonic PV-GS300, to be recognized by WinDV. All WinDV says is "Error" at the bottom. This is on Vista Ultimate x64. I tried running it in compatibility mode and as administrator but no luck there either.

Vegas movie studio recognizes and captures video just fine. So I guess I am back to my original question.

EDIT: Note to self, don't leave vegas studio running when you try to run WinDV...
