i just bought for 40 odd bucks
it's the lightcribe version
is it any good ? the same as the non-lightcribe version ?
i have no intention to use the lightscibe feature , was the only ide left
i haven't installed it yet

It should be OK but you paid too much.

Newegg has plenty of IDE burners available for about $20 US. I'm sure that shipping to Canada would not be so expensive as to exceed what you paid.
You are wise to avoid Lightscribe as using it will shorten the life of the burner. I used to use Lightscribe and it did that to all 3 of the burners I bought.
