  1. I read in another forum that it is possible to setup MMC to auto split the capture file into multiple files that will fit on 1 CD. Can this be done? I went through all the settings but could not find the option.

  2. I wonder if you could use the digital vcr function to do that. Set it to record one hour and then another hour back to back. Just an idea

  3. Yes, it can. The file size option is usually set during installation, but can be done later by starting the TV app, then going to setup - display - click the "installation wizard" button. This runs you through the setup again, and if I remember correctly, the file size limit is the last option. A pulldown list lets you choose anything from 1.44MB (haha, floppy-sized) all the way to "windows limit", in steps that make a fair amount of sense when you think about them.

Keep in mind that if you seT it to 600MB (or whatever), that you will need to run the installation wizard again to record a single file of larger size, or else it will just split it every 600MB (or whatever you set it to).
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  4. The above is true but there is an easier way to do it:

    Goto Setup/Digital VCR/Set Custom

Pick a desirable format and click 'Edit'

Hit 'Next' several times, changing any setting you want and leaving the others the same until you get to the end, the final option is for file size limit. This will make as many files at the specified size as you need to capture your video.

This setting ONLY works on your new Capture Format. You can set up different Capture Formats with different file size maximums.
