Hello, I am having a problem with some capturing I am doing.

I have a cheapo internal audio card with 1/8th inch outputs/inputs on the back of the computer.

I also have an external SoundBlaster Extigy, which connects to my computer via USB.

I am trying to capture from an S-VIDEO video source (into my ATI input box) and an optical audio source (toslink) (into my Extigy SoundBlaster)

The problem: Even though the audio is coming through my speakers, when I capture the video, it has no sound.

When I select the cheapo sound card instead of the SB Extigy in the sounds control panel and plug the 1/8th inch output from the back of my ATI video card into the "Line IN" port on the back of the computer, the captured video has sound.

What I want: I want the audio coming into the Sound Blaster Extigy to be the audio in the captured video clip.

Since there is no audio settings for source in the ATI MMC capture software (Digital VCR) I figure I need to do something in the general settings, but I have done some tinkering and to no avail.

I am afraid that if I try to capture the audio and video seperately it will be too hard to synch them afterwards.

    Please help!

  2. Just guessing:

Run the MMC wizard or advance option and choose a new audio source (ie: choose the SB external).

Is there a wizard? Where is it? That is the exact thing I am looking for (a place to select the SB Extigy)

  6. You can choose a different audio source if you re-run the installation wizard in the ATI setup (tuning page if I am not wrong).
You can also open the Windows mixer, in the property page, Recording, you should find all the available inputs.
Check the one you want to be shown in the recording mixer and then set the volume.
In this way every time you open TV player (or video in) the MMC reset the reconding input to LINE-IN (or anything it has in the setup).

  7. It's under the "display" tab in MMC TV app setup.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."
