Why are they ceding so much to others which could simply be incorporated into their programs?
Does Premiere Elements do basic joining and trimming without re-encoding?
Thanks.

Better yet, they should put out pre-ripped movies for a dollah and eliminate a whole bunch of competitors.

DV, HDV, XDCAM, and HDCAM all smart render with no loss* in Vegas. Also MPeg2_ts broadcast files.
* For HDV/XDCAM/MPeg2_TS cuts within a 15 frame MPeg2 GOP causes only those 15 frames to be re-rendered. The remaining frames are passed without loss. DV and HDCAM record individual frames.
Note: For smart render to work, the project and export formats must exactly match the source format properties. Otherwise it will re-encode all frames.Last edited by edDV; 31st Jan 2011 at 23:40.
