So i downloaded a streaming wmv some time ago (of a concert - "MSN Control Room"), I've been able to play it back fine in WMP, but skipping around can be a pain.
So I wanted to convert it to a more friendly (for my computer) format. The file is about 1GB. I've noticed when I open the WMV in VLC, 4 windows open up, 1 at a higher resolution and bitrate, and then 3 smaller windows, with a smaller resolution and different quality (they also all say Direct3D output on them).
When I try to convert the video, it always pulls from one of the lower quality streams, with the smaller resolution and quality.. anyone have any ideas or can recommend a converter that can show me the different streams so I can pick which one to use?

	Hi
Consider using MKVmergeGUI to make an MKV file containing only the tracks that you wish to keep.
It's part of the mkvtoolnix package.
 Information is here:- http://www.bunkus.org/videotools/mkvtoolnix/doc/mkvmerge-gui.html#whatismkvmerge

Or try extract the tracks with Windows Media Stream Editor (included in Windows Media Encoder).
