Below is the info from DVDinfo.
It shows my Verbatim DVD from Fry's to be made by CMC. I thought that was a third level manufacturer.
I thought Verbatim was first level and just about the best. Now I cannot trust this brand.
Is Taiyo-Yuden the only name I can trust?

Verbatim from Fry's is their low budget "Life" series, not Datalife of Datalife Plus.

We've had a lot of discussion for months now on the Verbatim Life series. Guess you missed it. Verbatim has bowed to the pressure of the US marketplace and now uses low quality manufacturers for their cheap Life series of discs. However, the DataLifePlus has not changed. I've been told that the DataLife hasn't changed either, just as jagabo pointed out, but I don't use those discs. I can confirm via a recent order that DataLifePlus is the same as it ever was.

seems the majority of consumers who burn discs dont pay attention to quality so they just grab whatever. If u want the Datalifeplus series...got to supermediastore, they have all of what you want. Burns and quality are as good as they've always been.
