    Im thinking of using a progressive camera for a capture machine that im building - some cameras are available in both Color and Color RAW versions.

    As I almost understand it, the RAW output does not include some required processing such as gamma correction, color balancing and whatnot.

    Which version would an experienced and capable editor prefer to work in?

    were you referring to stills or video ?

  4. In terms of video, you cannot access RAW footage from most cameras , only the expensive ones like red one /mx , arri alexa .

    Some cameras allow uncompressed through hd-sdi or hdmi , but not all

    uncompressed isn't the same as RAW; RAW is sensor data without any in camera processing, uncompressed has camera processing
