Hi.
Well, I can't help you much with the audio synch product, since I came into the forum today exactly trying to find a solution for it... (capturing 480x480 AVI straight with MMC 7.1...)
But I did manage to get VDub to work with vfw on my W98 (I also have dual-boot with W2K). The trick is to uninstall all of the ATI software, then install the 6292 drivers.. and then... install MMC 6.3! Yes, it seems to be necessary. But then vfw will work...
Also, you should be able to capture 720x480 uncompressed AVIs with your configuration. Mine is not as fast and I do. I do, however, totally empty-out AND defrag my large capture drive every time (sometimes I just reformat it). Also, to capture in VirtualDub, turn off (or set to zero) any and all buffers, disable windows write buffering... After much pain I found out that with a fast drive the buffering actually causes VDub to slow down and lose frames galore....
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
EBaldino
