The logo BMP file depth must be 24 bits

I am trying to use the logo filter with VirtualDub and get this error. I am making my bmp using PhotoShop. I am using 8bit channel RGB which I thought would equal 24bit, right??

Answer your own question. Go back to Photoshop and select 24-bit RGB, then go back into VirtualDub and see what happens.

I must have an old version of PhotoShop. It only has 8 and 16 bit as options. Do you know of a free program to make 24 bit bmps? Or convert my 16-bit RGB bmp to 24-bit?

Try Gimp or Irfanview , both free
