Hi there, I'm trying to capture some old VHS footage using my Brooktree Capture Card with Virtual Dub. I manage to get the video and audio working together but the picture sucks!!! I seem to be getting a wavy pattern over the video, a bit like watching another tv on tv.
Can anyone offer some advice?
Thanks in advance!!

you mean like seeing a computer screen on tv?
where it has the refresh rate showing? -
Yep, kind of. Someone told me to look at purchasing some Ferrite Beads to wrap around the capture cables, it's like a humming on the picture.
If your in the US, look up the beads in RadioShack and it will explain a lot clearer than I ever could. :0)

is there anything close to your cables that could create such an interference?

I have a few capture cards I use, and have seen the same problem you are seeing. I got rid of the problem by unplugging some of the many AC adapters I have when trying to capture video. You should also look into some heavy shielded audio/video cables. That should also help.
What capture card do you have exactly?
