Does anyone have an idea how to hook up this particular dvd player to the tv? All I want is the dvd
    player to work

the back of the player has the following hookups:

    tv audio in
    vcr audio in
    aux
    line out
(these are all white and red)

    video out (yellow)

    y (green)
    Pb (blue)
    Pr ((red)
(these are under "component video output)

my other equipment has 3 colors. yellow, red and white. Can this even be hooked up to the tv?

    thank you

I believe the particular model you are describing is a combined DVD player (5 discs) and surround sound system. What sort of TV do you have? The Panasonic unit should also have an HDMI interface for HDTVs, but you can certainly use the component outputs on an HD set. However, if you have an old, standard TV set (which is how it appears by your post), you will need to run an RCA line from the DVD player's yellow video output to the yellow video input on the TV. Likewise, red and white audio cables go from DVD line outputs to the corresponding inputs on the TV. Use RCA cables.

Do you not have surround sound speakers for the Panasonic unit? Seems like a huge waste, if not. Yours is not just a run-of-the-mill DVD player.

If you do not have the owner's manual, try downloading a .pdf version from the Panasonic website.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, it is a 5 disc surround sound unit, but I don;t have the room
    to hookup everything

I;m currently using a RCA tv (1996) and it only has the three color inputs i;ve mentioned. (red, white, yellow)
as is my cable box. No single yellow connection

The dvd unit looks like it was mauufactured in 2000, with a copyright of 1996

My previous dvd player worked because it had the appropriate 3 color connection

Does it seem to you that the unit is not compatable due to the 2 wire connections?

Maybe the unit is too old?

    thanks again
