I was trying to switch my karaoke DVD (and VOB files) audio channels back and forth, so that I can have collections of karaoke in which all the audio channel positions are in a same order (could be the vocal channel first and the instrument channel second or vice versa), so does anyone know how to do this?

You'll probably have to swap the audio in an audio editor. And then re-author.

Thanks lordsmurf, but will the quality be exactly the same? And what programs should I use?

Can I clarify - are you talking about the Channel order - right, left, centre etc, or the Stream order - audio track 1, audio track 2 etc ?

One requires changes in an audio editor, as previously indicated, and the other is an authoring issue which may be far simpler to resolve.

Sorry again for not being clear guns1inger, I think it's the stream order, like moving the "French" to the top and let the "English" be the second option in the "language section" in a DVD movie, thanks!

You *might* be able to do this with PGCEdit. If not, you may have to demux the video and audio back to elementary streams, then re-author in the order you want them to be. Start with PGCEdit, because if it works it will be the simplest solution.

Hi all, I tried and it worked with my DVDs! But the sad news is I have many separate VOB files without IFO and BUP, how can I get PgcEdit to open it? I have heard IfoEdit and VobEdit, but I guess they are not for newbies, and I don't really know how it works too! What do I have to do now?

If these VOBs come from the same DVD then using IFOEdit is pretty easy. There is a simple Create IFO button. Just click this button, and open the first VOB in the set. If things are more complex than that then you may have to use DVD Styler or GUIForDVDAuthor, import the VOBs, and author a new disc.

Use Ifoedit and associate ifo files with Ifoedit . Open the DVD in explorer and double click the ifo file you want to change. In the upper window double click VTS _PGCITI and any PGC's will drop down. Click one of the PGC's. Now look in the lower window and you will see all the streams in that PGC,look and you see the audio streams listed. Under the Value column you will see a numeric value for each audio stream. Double click each audio stream,a box will open to allow you to change the value. Transpose the value numbers and you will have changed the order of the audio streams.
