Does anyone know any media player that can play a DVD folder from a hard drive (supports the IFO files) to your TV screen?

WDTV supports playback of the main title, but doesn't support menus. Fine for a movie only rip. The Seagate plays menus. Don't know about the rest of them.

IOs this what you are looking for ? If not, perhaps you could include some detail in your question.Read my blog here.

Sorry for the unclear explanation, no, what I meant is the IFO files that used to play a DVD "correctly." Yep, I did a long search about the 3 editions of WDTV, and yes it seems that it only supports VOB files.

So, guess I will take a look on Seagate player then, even though I currently have no idea what it is.

Thanks for ur reply and info guns1inger,

most of the current Media players will play a DVD folder from a Hard Drive, including the WDTV.
But very few as yet will play a blue ray folder as if you are playing an actual Blue Ray Disc as they cannot cope with complicated Menu system.
Some will also play iso files created fromm a DVD

As of what it mentions in the link below, here are the formats that it supports: MPEG–1, MPEG–2 (VOB/ISO), MPEG–4 (Xvid), DivX®, DivX HD, Xvid HD, AVI, MOV, MKV, RMVB Real Media, AVC HD, H.264, WMV9, VC–1, M2TS, TS/TP/M2T.

I saw that they have VOB and ISO there, but no IFO, so does anyone know if any of these format can handle the DVD menu? ISO?

 Thank you very much,

I don't have a second OS installed. Sony's own OS finds the MythTV backend by itself. It's really convenient! Of course I have a MythTV front end set up as well, but it's really only necessary for managing the recordings and taking advantage of commercial skip and the like.

Yes. And you don't have to set up a MythTV box to use it either, but you can. There is some software (that I haven't tested, but looks really good. In fact, it looks better than Myth for a UPnP/DLNA server) called PS3 Media Server, which you can install on a PC on your network.
