  1. hello everyone,

recently I wanted to add a hardcoded subtitle to one chapter of a DVD movie, so I extracted the chapter using DVD Shrink, then demuxed using PgcDemux, I got a .M2V file plus four AC3 tracks as I have three languages and a director commentary track, I used Magix Movie Edit to edit the M2V file, I exported the video file as MPEG Video with the same frame rate and aspect ratio of the original one, I muxed it again with the original 4 AC3 files and I got a terrible audio Sync of about 1 Minute, I retried to do it again and again, I even tried to use delay thing and muxed using Ifoedit, Rejig and Muxman with no use, then I noticed that the original video file and the file I exported from Magix are the same length, but the original audio tracks are longer with about 45 seconds, that's why I couldn't have it synced correctly, so does any body know what the hell is happening with me PLZ, and why the demuxed audio is longer the video?!

Note: my plan is to put this edited chapter back into the movie using Vob Blanker...

    Thanks in Advance,
    Caesar

My first guess is there's a ~45 second video file that was at the beginning of the movie that wasn't included in the final video.

  3. Yeah, there are some things about this that just don't add up. Why use DVDShrink to extract the chapter followed by PGCDemux to demux when the real goal of the exercise was to demux? You could have done that in a single step. Although it'll only be max +/- 300ms, did you think to get the delay from PGCDemux (Check A/V Delay)? This one has 'User Error' written all over it, but because I don't (and won't) use this Magix Movie Edit, I haven't a clue as to where you went wrong. I'd first check the extracted and then demuxed videos to make sure they're the same. Did you at any point change either the audio or video length? And if all you're doing is adding in a sub, why hardcode it? Make it a regular old subtitle added to the ones you already have (if it has subs). That way you won't have to reencode the video, which apparently this Magix Movie Edit did.

  4. thanks guys for the quick reply!

I thought the same as you redwudz, but it's the first chapter of the movie, so I compared the content of the chapter with the original one, nothing is missing from the video,

manono, you've just made me feel like an idiot, God! I've been doing extra work for nothing, well actually, I've forgotten that PgcDemux can do it for me for one cell, but really, it's the first time I have to deal only with chapters, usually I deal with the whole movie, so I might be forgiven , I've just tried demuxing one cell by Pgc, A/V delay showed none for everything, I compared the length of the video files, they are the same length exactly, the audio file is just longer, I've noticed that the audio file contains audio from the next scene, oh sh*t!!!!

by the way, Manono, I have to use Magix Movie Edit cause it's the only one with arabic language support, the others will write in Arabic but will seperate the letters, and that is wrong ,
finally, I'm using hardcoded subs since it's a DVD video that was made by my college about Spiritual Studies, they worked hard on it, dubbed it, commented on it with lectures, so now they want to publish it under their name and they don't want anyone to steal it and claim it's him, so hardcoded is better here, my professor will just throw me some extra degrees for this one ,

Thanks Guys and forgive my rusty English!
