I need to convert a couple of short .mov files to .flv but am having no luck. I get the progress bar pop up which shows the encoding is over is seconds. I tried converting the file to an .avi and that worked fine, but the flv files all show 0 kb in size when they're completed. I would really appreciate any insight or assistance anyone can give.

    Thanks in advance.

Please post the Process Information log for analysis. You may access this log by clicking the blue "i" in the ffmpegX Progress window after a conversion (attempt).

Open your .mov in QTP. Show Movie Properties. Extract the soundtrack.
[A new QuickTime 'Untitled' window will appear, that has just the audio.]
Delete the soundtrack [from the original movie].
Switch to the extracted Untitled soundtrack window. Select all. Copy (to clipboard).
[When you do ⌘C or Menu > Edit > Copy, whatever was selected will be copied in computer memory. Sometimes this is called the Clipboard or Pasteboard.]
Switch back to the .mov window. Select all. Add (from clipboard) to movie.
[Doing menu > Edit > Add to Movie (⌥⌘V) will put the the soundtrack back into the movie.]
[The stream order is now video first, audio last, when audio was first before.]
    Save as self-contained .mov.

This can be checked by the ID numbers of the streams (QuickTime Player calls the streams 'Tracks') in the Properties window. The lowest ID number will signify the first stream.
