  1. I have many movies burned to vcd. Many of them are no longer on my computer. If I simply want to make a copy of a vcd in my collection, please tell me if these are the simple steps. First transfer the vcd to the hard drive, then simply use Nero to burn it as a vcd? Seems too simple! Also, how much quality is lost from this new copy? Thanks, all in advance.

What you have to do is get yourself a copy of VCDgear.
Then you want to copy the .dat file in the MPEGAV folder on the VCD to your hard drive.

With that you want to convert the .dat file to an MPGusing the VCDgear program.

Then you can simply burn with nero or whatever you wish to use and there will be no quality lossed becasue its pure digital

    Hope this helps

PS get VCD GEAR at www.vcdgear.com

Uh yes you could do that but then there is a possibility for error.

I read somehwer on here that if you just rename it i could thoeretically screw up. It rarely happens but still could happen.

I just though it would be on the safe side because VCD Gear actually has the option to comvert it and i just did not want this guy to have anymore problems.

Why don't you do a simple disk to disk copy, if you only have 1 CD-ROM set the source and destination to be the same, you will be prompted for the blank disk after the source has been read. Nero, CDR-WIN, Juggler they all do simple disk to disk.
