  1. SUCKS BIG TIME !!!!!

The go-motion codecs and LSX encoder are a joke.....I've tried a 1 minute clip in uncompressed format shot with a 3ccd DVCAM pro unit...

After encoding with 2-pass Tmpeg, Ligos, BBmpeg, and CCE (up to 9 pass !!!)

Tmpeg beats them all and Ligos looks like crap !!!!

Sure....2 pass at 4500-6000 takes a bit longer, but it beats Ligos quick ass compression that even at 8500 can't touch Tmpeg.....

CCE is ok, but nothing special...

Which encoder versions did you test? Which settings?

Be sure to use 'optimized encoder settings' for getting best quality out of the encoders. Standard settings are worse.

  3. I used the new version of the ligos premiere plugin and the Procoder plugin and they leave Tmpeg in the dust for speed and picture quality, particularly on my large screen tv.

    True dat Coops75!

I tried the previous Ligos plugin and stand alone with top notch footage in a production setting and with dvdv-rips and thought no matter how you tweaked it - it looked like sh*t! But version 1.2 of the plugin rocks! It's fast and easy - just like I like my women! We now have a Targa 3000 with MpegWorks so I'm just using the plugin with Xmpeg for Dvd to SVCD rips.

As for Picture Quality, I cannot find a setting except at 9000/sec that will compare to Tmpeg at 6000/sec...

For some reason, there seems to be a washed out, no contrast look to it.

Unless there's a magic setting (I do like Ligos speed), I can see using it...

Anybody else have thoughts on the new encoder?
