How well is AverTV Studio at capturing to SVCD format???

I origonally was thinking of getting one of those AIW ATI 8500 128mb cards that do it all, but I noticed that I would save a lot of $$$ if I went with a GF4 4200 and get a AverTV Studio capture card. Well some $$$ initially, and more $$$ in the long run when the time would come to upgrade my video card .

There is a lack of reviews on the AverTV Studio capture card, but I'm hoping some of ya tired it. All I care about is the quality and capturing to Mpeg2 in SVCD format so I can burn it onto a CD. So could those who tried it tell me how the card handles in WinXP, the capture quality, and any tips you have on capturing to SVCD format?

I have AverTV Studio. It does not give you the option of being able to capture at 480 x 480 for SVCD. It only allows 320 x 240, 640 x 480, and 720 x 480 in mpeg1 and mpeg2. Also of note is that I have been unable to use virtualdub with this capture card as well. I suggest you buy something more user friendly even if it does costs more if you do not want to have to re-encode video down to 480 x 480 which I am currently doing with tmpgenc.
