My first post and my nightamre problem lol.
Basically i ripped a DVD movie to get a .m2v by using Smartripper but the video .m2v is over 4.0G so i need to recncode it but this is where the fun begins grrr.
Rempeg up first all starts o.k but after about an hour and half get an error and program will now close bummer, .
TMPenc similiar story get a write error or PC will reset itself and again it will not complete.
To be honest i have only had to rencode one DVD and this completed fine, so im not usre what is going worng.
My system specs are as follows
Win XP (Could this be the problem ?)
296 MB Ram
910 Mhz PIII
This is driving me mad and i have looked at all the help files regarding TMPEnc and nothing makes a difference.
So has anybody elese had this problem ?, or is it just me ?
Cheers

what are your bitrate setting on tmpenc, my thinking is that both remepeg and tmpegenc are both encoding well and hit the 4gb file limit on a fat 32 system ( assuming your drives are fat32, as if they were ntfs then there should be no problem as I use win2k and have hit 5.4gb mpeg files on accident due to excessive bitrate ). If they are hitting my max bitrate that i use is 4500 for tmpenc and cq of 75 to 85 depending on audio bit rate setting and movie length.

mikerios
m8 i am using Win XP with NTFS file system so 4GB limit is not the problem ?.
my bitrate settings are
Average Bitrate : 6000
Maximum Bitrate: 8000
But i rencoded a DVD with Rempeg using 6040 Bitrate and this was no problem.
Does that shed anymore light on it ?
