I use PE4 to edit my home video and it worked fine in the past.
Last weekend when I finished the editing one large project (about 2.5 hrs video) from 10 avi files (each over 12 GB), it failed me to burn DVD. The encoding process was running when generating peak file from one of the avi files (as shown in the lower right corner), but the encoding process stopped (only 5%) after the completion of "generating peak file". The PE4 hang or program not responding......
I tried to trim down the project to one hour but same problem happened again. It also failed me when I saved it as DV AVI format.....
My avi files were converted by WinDV from mini DV tapes recorded by two camcorders, namely DVX100B and Sony HC9. I added all these avi files (video and audio) to the timelines. Does it matter ?
I'm using Windows XP, 4GB ram on P4. This problem has never been happen before. Any suggestion ?
I've been spending hours to cut and paste from 10 avi files to create the PE4 project, I can't affort to spend another 5 hours to re-do it. Is there any other video editing program works with PE4 project ?
Many thanks.
