  1. Hi,
I have a DC10+ card. I capture from VHS and convert to VCD using the Studio 7 software. The result is not that good as in the original VHS. Is that the best quality that I can get with VCD? Is there a better way to convert from MJPEG to VCD?

  2. Somebody suggests capture in AVI format and then convert to VCD MPEG format using TMPGEnc. The result should look better but it takes a long time to convert using TMPGEnc.

  3. I have a Pinnacle DC10 capture card with Studio 7 also. I found the capture process too long so I switched to an Aver TV card. It cut my process time in half. However, if you want to get a really good quality VCD from the Pinnacle here is what to do.
    1. Capture like normal using Pinnacle's Mjpeg.
    2. Edit commerical using studio.
    3. Go to make movie but select DV studio AVI codec instead and convert
    4. Now that you have a good quality AVI use TMPGEnc.
    5. select highest, inverse telecine, sharpen
Now when it finishes processing you have a really good quality mpeg and you can use Roxio Easy CD Creator or better yet Nero to format the mpeg to VCD. This process takes about 8 - 10 hours for 1 hours of video. Of course you will have to make 2 AVI files if it is toolong. More than one copy of TMPGEnc can run at a time.
I hope this helps. I made REALLY good VCDs with this process but like I said it was way too long. I have cut processing time to four hours per one hour of video by switching to the Aver and the Aver was less money.
