  1. Does anyone use the Hauppauge USB2 capture card with Vista? Windows says it can't find drivers and then when I try installing the drivers it says compatible harddware not found.. this is the one I tried downloading:
    http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/support_pvrusb2.html

Is this the right or wrong ones? Is there something else I should download or this thing just doesn't work with vista?

That appears to be the correct file for Vista. Did you R click the installer and use 'Run as Administrator'? Did you try different USB2 ports? Not using a USB hub?

  4. I tried r clicking and run as and it's still says compatible hardware not found. I'm using the USB port that's in the computer, not a hub. It's in the device manager, so windows is picking it up and there's a red light on in the front.

When windows asked to find drivers I tried redirecting it to that download with the drivers folder and it said it updated but when I click on WinTV it saying some .dll file is missing.

Has anyone successfully got this working on Vista?

Thanks for any help...I tried emailing Hauppauge but probably won't hear back till atleast Monday.

I just got my PVR-USB2 working with Vista Media Center. Don't follow the Hauppauge instructions on the page mentioned above. The driver install fails. You will need to let Windows install the driver from the drivers folder in hauppauge_cd_3.4d1.zip.

Extract the drivers folder to your hard drive.
Plug the PVR into the USB port.
You'll get the [Found New Hardware] window.
Select [Locate and Install Driver Software].
Let it search thru Windows Update.
When that fails, it will ask [Insert the disc that came with your WinTV].
Select [I don't have the disc, show me other options].
Select [Browse my compupter for driver software].
Navigate to \Drivers folder that you extracted from the zip file.
Be sure the [Include subfolders] option is checked.
It should find the right driver pretty quick.
    Then setup Media Center.

Was the WinTV plugged into the computer and the power outlet at the time of the driver installation?
