I am at a loss as to what is going on here...

DVD player is an RCA 5240P

When I play back VCD/SVCD's on the above DVD player the A/V audio is blank/silent yet the optical output is playing the sound correctly??

When I play a standard DVD on this player both audio outputs are active.
(I have the A/V going to a UHF house hold distrubtion system so that DVD's can be watched in other rooms in the house.)

I create a *.WMV file using "Windows Movie Maker" and the allow NERO to import the file to be burned.

What is going wrong and/or what am I not doing right, what software switch am I not turning on??

If I need to use only MPEG1/2 files how can I convert WMV files to MPEG1/2 files?

  2. I don't have one of those players, but I was curious and looked in the manual (http://support.tandy.com/support_video/doc66/66052.pdf), and I can't see any relevant options that jump out at me. Maybe someone else can pick something out.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

OK ... I have asked this question before and never got a reply other than to go to " http://www.vcdhelp.com/ " and ask.. where I have yet to receive a helpful reply...

    So here goes again...

Does anybody here own a RCA RC5240P DVD Player and have they played back VCD's burned with NERO Ver.5.5.8.2?

If so did the audio play through the standard 'rca A/V' jacks?

The VCD's that I have been creating have been playing back correctly on my computer and will play back correctly via the RGB/component/Optical outputs of the RCA DVD player, but does not play the audio out the 'rca A/V' jacks!!

Is this a error in the playback software of this RCA player or a burning error of NERO?!?
