I have collected quite a few mpeg videos on a Maxtor external firewire drive and I would like to send them to my new Philips DVD recorder which has a i-link firewire camcorder input. Is there any means of playing the video on the computer and sending it to the DVD recorder using the firewire cable? Right now, the computer sees the Philips as a digital camera and the Philips sees nothing when connected. I also own a JVC video switcher with DV inputs - does it need to be in the loop? Not trying to reinvent the wheel - just hoping someone has been down this road already.
TIA
