  1. can any body help me to chose between available dvd players in the market ?

    1-samsung HD870.
    2-philips 5166k.
    3-sony ns67p.

    the samsung have HDMI which not important for me , i want the best brand to play divx and normal dvds and be solid for long time .

    which brand is the best please help ?

    Philips models get my vote, especially if the USB performs well on that one.

  3. that means philips better than samsung a solid player because i red somewhere that in some philips models happen some problems with divx like skip time from the file etc...

    Most players will play the files fine. Playback issues are most often the result of the files themselves.

    I would look for a player that is Divx certified. You can find a list at divx.com. Aside from that, I'd choose by price (or any other features you may want/need).

    I've had the best luck with the Oppo players, but I've used a few Philips as well.
