mpeg joiners tmpge

Quick question.......I've made 2 vcd's now and both turned out okay I use tmpge and then nero to burn the question is the rest of the movies I wanted to turn into vcd"s won"t go into tmpge they all say error unknown format.
I did alot of reading in this forum before I posted one sug was to download divx5 tried that did not work.

all including the 2 that did work are avi and are between 40-60min.
any help would be great thanks.

I have the same situaton and have resolved it, most of the time by running VirtualDub first and then TEMPGEnc..
