I would like to know what are the readand write speeds for cds and dvds on my optical drive. Is there a dianosis tool that will give me this informstion?
i tried using nero info tool but itonly tells me the Cd write and read speeds (not for DVDs). I do not have the box of the drive so how can i have this information?

Use CD/DVD SPEED, it should tell you the model of your dvd burner.
http://www.cdspeed2000.com/download.html#nerocdspeed
Download the nerocdspeed 4.7.7.16 version. Then unzip it and double click on the icon for that program. It should at least give you the brand/model of your dvd burner. Are you sure your dvd rw is a burner or just a dvd-rom (reader)?
