I hadn't used svcd2dvd for some time until I decided to convert my *avi movies.
Before I did this I was checking the website and noticed that a newer build was available, my previous build I thimk it was 2.5.3300 but not positive.
The install of v2.5.3600 went well without issues, however this is converting like never before (3~5 fps), one hour movie took about 7 hours to complete and get a VIDEO_TS folder....!!!!!!
My PC, same as before:
-windows vista 32bit
-2gb memory
-only svcd2dvd running
-SATA drive, movie and resulting VIDEO_TS folder in 2nd partition of drive, plenty of space there (ntfs)
How can I improve this process, I have 2 more movies to go..!!!!

thanks chrissyboy, here are the 3 files in that folder since I updated to this new build, I won't continue with the other avi files until I hear from you on possible resolution:

here's the other file created later the day before....
svcd2dvdlog-20080906210430.txt -
just so you know, for testing I started the process again with a 3rd movie file and the fps started at 20 but then gradually started to go down and now it is sitting at just 4 fps.

40 minutes video took about close to 6 hours, in the log noticed a continuous message about:
"AC EOB marker is absent pos=64"
this started at 10:18AM thru 13:22 this afternoon, what's this?
look at the logs for this pass:

2nd file created for this pass...

chrissyboy.......help please......any suggestions????
Would like to go back to previous version and see what happens but don't have install file...!!! -
should I assume chrissyboy has stopped supporting his software??
I'm getting very little or no support here for this problem. -
Still here! Just been away on buisness for a couple of days.
I think we need to look at the avisynth option we talk about in another thread. Please email me and i will send you a development build which will make it easy to do.

Chris,
tried the new version you sent and it is amazingly faster than previous version. As instructed by you, I installed avisynth first and then your new version.
the fps started at around 84 and fluctuated about high 70 and by the end of the process it was at 59.
1 hour video started at around 12:59pm and finished around 13:21pm, 22 minutes total....huge difference and speed increase!!!!!!!!
I used the quick DVD option, will try the process again but using the menu option (Make DVD....) and see if process is about the same. -
well....the created folder has a vob corrupted file, tried to open in videoredo and it says :
CAVIStreamSynth: System exception - Access Violation at 0x0, reading from 0x0"
here's the only log created by svc2dvd.........

chris,
the first time I tried the new build I had avisynth v2.5.7 and I believe you wanted it to be at least v2.5.8.
When I tried this the first time, as I said before, it created a dvd folder in an amazingly 22 minutes and I really thought that it was not right. I looked in the VIDEO_TS folder and I saw only 1 VOB file, which again didn't seem right to me, but I burned the dvd and couldn't play it.
Also note that there was only one log file created when it is usually two, so again seemed to me that something was not right.
I didn't try the dvd in WMP as I knew something was not right when I saw the error in videoredo.
I then reinstalled avisynth 2.5.8 and rebooted the pc.
Then I tried the process again and I'm back to square one where the fps goes down to 4 and the process is looooong.
Just so you know, I can never play VOB files in VMP, I can with videoredo and this is why I always use it.
What else can I try.....PLEASE>>>>>>>>>>?
