I would try convert using FAVC.

If that wont help then give us the AVI details. Use MediaInfo and post all details here.

Thanks for the suggestion for trying FAVC but favc is not reconizing my avi file i ran the file through mediainfo and here's the info:

    DIVX: 1.55 GB, 2hr 55mn
    1 video streams: MPEG-4 Visual (DivX 5)
1 audio streams: MPEG Audio (MP3)
    First video stream
    1 500 Kbps, 720*400 (16/9), at 29.970 fps, MPEG-4 Visual (DivX 5)(Packed bitstream)(BVOP)
    First audio stream
    128 Kbps, 44.1 Khz, 2 channels, MPEG Audio (MP3)(Version1)(Layer 3)(Dual Mono)

should FAVC be able to handle this? do i need to reinstall favc, avisyth and/or net framework?. maybe downgrade (convert) the avi Divx file to a regular avi file or other format for FAVC to reconize without video quality loss?

My intial post is as follows:

Yes, FAVC should support avi divx with mp3. WHat is the error message in favc?

THe avi headers might be corrupt so I would try run divfixpp on the avi.

Or try latest version of ConvertXtoDVD.

Sometimes just running an AVI through this will fix things.

Especially if you see 'bad'. It will also set the delay to zero.

  6. You can try also with AVStoDVD (download latest 2.1.1 Alpha - see link in my signature). It reads stream info trhu MediaInfo and then, if you preview the output and it is out of sync, you can tweak the AVS script by going to 'Edit Title'/'AviSynth' and playing with 'Audio Delay'.
