I have installed ffdshow but I have also other applications like Powedvd 8, Canopus, Vegas, TMPGenc and I also give good use to freewares like Avidemux, Virtualdub and others yet in my experience I fail to set ffdshow correctly as it often conflicts with some of the above applications.
So I wonder if there is a good tut around as to where or what filters and VFW settings are best?
    Thanks

If it's playback why are you throwing encoder names about?

Jeremy Duncan has a ffdshow setup guide he keeps tweaking at.

i've not read of that before.

    any other codecs flying about?
    possible clashes?

change to maybe a more stable ffdshow revision?

    may be something else.
try with a decoder other than ffdshow and see if it persists.

    also avidemux doesn't use ffdshow.
    so....
unless that was just a name drop.
it makes it more likely your problem is elsewhere.

avidemux was just a name drop however I use it and like it very much
Most of my problems have been with PowerDVD 8 but not now that I only use ffdshow with VFW option checked for flv playback. So I wanted to learn more
and Thank you for the links
