  1. Ok, I'm converting my 2 CD Divx DVD rip of MI:2 to either MPEG-2/MPEG-1, I tried the first disc (its 61 min. long) with Sefys SeVCD template, its amazing, it took me only 5 hours to convert and the quality is great, not a single block there, its smooth baby, though it could be a bit shraper...! But the problem is that i want to fit CD1 on one disc and the file I've got is only 486 MB, and since I'm going to burn this on a 80 min disc there is plenty of space left, how can I make the quality higher so it takes up the entire disc, its a waste of space IMHO at the moment...?

And is this the best way to convert an Divx/AVI to VCD/SVCD, or which way should I go?

  2. May I add that I prefer to convert this DivX to a great SVCD instead, but I dont know if it'll fit on one disc or not and I also dont know which settings/template to use for SVCD.

  3. I just checked the CD1 VCD that i used the SeVCD template (NTSC)with, on my Pioneer DV-535 and the result is great, but I'd like to know how I can alter the SeVCD template a little so the movie fills the entire 80 min disc and so the quality can get a little bit better (sharper would be good)...

Come on you experienced guys, I need answers...

  4. There are a couple of things you could try to get better
    quality.

-- you could try sefy's sxvcd template-- basicly uses mpeg2
    instead of mpeg1

-- you could increase the max/avg bit rate from 1150 to
something in the 2500 range-- that should sharpen things
    up.

-- you could use 480 lines of resolution instead of 240

-- many people on these forums reccomend tmpg's
2-pass varioble bit rate setting. I've had difficulty
getting this to work correctly when frameserving
from flask, but it seems to be the unanimous opinion
around here that this produces better output than
    cq vbr
