Looking for feedback on a stabilizer for a video camera. Something like a steadicam or glidecam. Any advice from those who have used them and how well they worked will be most appreciated. I have about $300-$400 to spend, but would be willing to spend less (ha ha ha).

    Thanks!
    Point. Click. Sigh.

Or the real thing, Jr version:

This seems to be a modified version of Chung Lee's famous device which I posted. Looks good!

I've been planning to tackle this project for a while now, I may just get off my ass & do it! Chung Lee also sells kits, with all the pre-cut parts ready to assemble. Looks pretty cheap = ~US$40 or so.

Quite a jump to the ~$800 "Steadicam Jr"! I know which direction I'd be looking.

  5. Those DIY things look very interesting. I'm planning on building one myself. Is there anything new here? Otherwise I'd go for that modified version (with weight on the side).

BTW, I found another one on youtube, but it doesn't look that good to me, even tho it seems to perform well. What do you think?

I just bought a Glidecam 2000 Pro stabilizer for $300. Your arms need to be in decent shape to hold a stabilizer for any length of time. My right arm hasn't been this sore since I was fifteen. Looking forward to some good shots. Worth the trouble to either build or buy one.
