  1. I reformatted my cousins old Dell Dimension 4550. Everything went well until I tried to install the Broadcom Ethernet driver which I got from the dell website. Every time i run the install, it jumps to 100% and says complete, but device manager still fails to recognize it. The Broadcom diagnostic tool also fails to recognize its presence. Any suggestions?
This plan is so bad, it must be one of ours.

Are you sure its the Broadcom and not a Intel?

    Motherboard Chipset

Turns out it was an intel. Dells site is just wrong, so I grabbed from a different model's page. Thanks, I would have taken me a while to get this otherwise.
