Hi Everyone,
I recently purchased Canon Vixia HF 100 (first HD DV) and I'm having a problem with windows. It is connected by USB 2.0. I've never had any problems with connectivity with my other camcorders.
The camera driver has been installed and is recognized by Windows, but not as a DV device. It is recognized as a storage device, therefore I can't see the device when I try to capture.
I tried using the Canon software to capture, but it tells me cannot detect camera. Tried using Ulead and Pinnacle, same problem. I'm not sure what else I can do.
Please advise.
Regards.

Yes, you are correct it is saved on a SD card. I didn't realize I can just drag the .MTS file into my computer. I thought I had to capture the video like my other camcorders.
Wow, didn't realize, this is much easier and faster.
Thanks for the info!If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you; that is the principal difference between a dog and a man.
