  3. I want 2 change because when I convert to vcd, I have 2 options :-

    1) convert keeping aspect ratio - when I do this I get a picture that is too small. Ok wide but too small height wise.......

    2) convert optimised for my television picture size 4:3 - when I do this the screen is sketch to much and everything is longgggggg

I would prefer a frame size somewhere in between the too.

    Tx

That would be nice, but your forgetting one thing a VCD is 352x288 (Pal) 352x240 (NTSC) so that is what you are going to end up with.

If you keep the "Full screen Keep aspect ratio" then it wont mess with the movie size, but you will end up with black borders.

If you make it full screen you will loose the boarders and also the movie sides.

Full screen Keep aspect ratio, is the best setting, and you get what you get...

You are not going to be able to show the whole of your video on your 4:3 TV without either having bands at top and bottom, or else the aspect ratio shot to hell.

Firstly, you must make sure after choosing the VCD template to suit the framerate, Setting>Video>Aspect ratio is 4:3 (it should be, and is usually grayed out).

Next in Setting>Advanced>Source aspect ratio should (usually) be 1:1 VGA. This particularly so if you are converting something like DivX.

Then choose Settings>Advanced>Video arrange method=Center keep aspect ratio.

This will cut off the ends of your source, but should fill the screen. Basically, you have to live with bands at the top, or the ends cut off, because source and target resolutions are so different! 8)
