burning problem

i just d/led a movie and when i try to burn it with nero it says too big and it won't start to burn, disc 2 burned fine, but the 1st disc is like 3 seconds too long. i was wondering if there's a plugin or something that will let me compress it a bit to fit on the cd. it's an official dvdrip release and not one that some random dude ripped for me. any help would be greatful.

u can use bbmpeg to cut off 3 seconds or u can re-encode with lower quality audio/video compression-also u don't say what size media u use?
