Yes I'm trying to do that as well.

Ultimately I want to rip my Blu Rays and encode them into high quality AVI's to be played on my various portables.

Since BD-Roms can be had for under 200 now I think I might try it.

I know that you can use AnyDVD-HD to open them up willy nilly... But I don't know how they get ripped. And I don't know what software takes what gets ripped and turn it into a VOB or other video file that I can use to make an AVI/MP4 etc.

    All mysteries to me....

And I don't know if there current generation BD-Roms are going to handle profile 1.1 discs when those start coming out. I'd think it would work but that purely a guess (as the only thing profile 1.1 adds in web content and PiP support).

I'd figure current gen drives could rip them just fine.

Not to hijack your thread or anything but getting these questions answered would be peachy keen, lol.

Rip Blu-Ray with AnyDVD HD then choose/guess at correct m2ts files (usually obvious) and Tsremux to ts file for play/convert!!!

  4. Whenever I import either my MPEg TS or M2TS into DGindex to try and rip the audio whatever PGC I choose it just says 'No Video Header Sequence Found'. I also Tried to open in Virtual dub but still no dice.I've used TSremux and select various combinations even one that clearly says AVC video Stream.Still the same thing.

Just a note, you don't need TVersity to stream to XBOX360. Either take the VOB files and rename to MPG or convert to divx (which saves space). Both of these can be played directly from XBOX360 dashboard. You will need Windows Media Player v11 configured for sharing, which is documented at xbox.com/pcsetup.
