People in here seem smart so I'll throw this out. I did look through the posts but never found an answer...
I have some tv shows that are in AVI format. I would like to watch them on my sony 60'' tv
Would they look better converting them to a dvd file and burning and playing back on my 1080i dvd player
Or....
I have a spare computer, would it look better hooking up the dvi cable directly to the tv and playing the files directly as avi.
I suppose there are many factors but generally speaking, which is better. The Tv is only a 720p rear projection lcd. Any help would be appreciated. I would compare myself but were talking gigs and gigs here...

Direct playback using a PC or a Divx certified DVD player will likely yield the best results. Conversion will also work, it will further reduce quality, but you will end up with DVD's (multiple discs - 2/3 episodes on a SL disc or 4/6 on a DL disc) capable of being played in any DVD player.
I prefer playback on a Divx certified player. Just burn the files to a disc as data and then play.Google is your Friend
