  1. My friend shot his wedding video on a Sony DVD-RW camcorder. This is the mini disc DVD-RW type. And I guess he started to record again at the begining for few seconds and realized what disc it was. Is there a way to look for old VOB files and rip those off the disc?

    No. If the disc was just erased or whatever, you would have a chance to recover the files. Once you start overwriting files, you are pretty much out of luck.

    You could try opening the disc with a program such as ISObuster. It may be able to pull off all of the data including the now partially overwritten files, but I don't know if you would then be able to save/use any of the damaged files.

    If the old TOC was intact, maybe. ISO Buster in UDF recover mode, and good luck.
