Where can I buy (in USA) Verbatim DVD+R DL made in Singapore?
I've tried the made in India kind from two different sources (Rima and MicroCenter) but after 100+ burns am getting 5-10% coasters, so I don't want to buy any more of those!

I got my Verbatim DVD+R DL MIS disks at Micro Center here in the Philadelphia area. They were in 15 disk packs. They also had 20 packs of the +R DL that were MII. The 15 packs happened to be on sale at the time I was there - cheaper per disk than the 20 packs. Haven't been back lately so I don't know if the MIS disks are still in stock.

Thanks for the info. I must order online or by mail because there are no local stores selling DVD blank media except Walmart, Kmart, Sears, Radio Shack, and of that type, and most of them don't even stock Verbatim discs. We have no local or nearby Best Buy, Micro Center, and those kinds of stores.

Here is the item at MicroCenter:

I think Verbatim uses the ORANGE label on their MIS disks - but I could be wrong.
Unfortunately right now they show at $40 - I paid $27 when they were on sale. Even that is expensive per disk but I wanted to get some known good disks to test out the DL burning capability of a new Pioneer 112D writer I had just bought. Bought three packs so I would have some on hand.Steve W. -
It's sad that the only known good quality DL discs are starting to go downhill. I never had a Verbatim coaster until they started making them in India.
Sadly, I don't know of any way to order them online now that will guarantee you'll receive MIS.
Wouldn't it be great if TY made DLs?! -

I figure when I finally get a new more modern DL capable burner that I would try then but the burner I have works fine so I just never got around to buying a new one.

Also I noticed that this week BEST BUY has TDK DVD+R DL discs on sale but I've never heard anything ... good or bad ... about TDK DVD+R DL media. The price is nice though ... 25 pack for only $27.99 + sales tax + shipping.

And now in reference to other posts...
The MicroCenter price is truly HORRIBLE for DL media. At that price, I would honestly suggest buying the Indian Verbatim DVD+R DL discs from a much cheaper source because you'd come out better, even with a few coasters. It would also truly suck to mail order the discs and pay this terrible price and then find out you've got Made In India media.
I've been using the MII Verbatim DVD+R DL for a while now because they are the only Verbatim DVD+R DL discs I can get. They mostly seem OK. I've had a few problems with them, but in my experience they don't seem to be any worse for me than the Made In Singapore ones. DL media is not perfect and every now and then you're just going to get a bad one. That's just how it is. -

Grant it, I think $27.99 is still a lot to pay for 20 discs but it's better than the $35 on up price I usually see.
If they didn't cost so much, maybe the few coasters from the MII wouldn't be quite as upsetting. -
