I am wanting to get my old 16mm film converted to DVD. When this process is done is it then "digital"? I know how with tv shows they take the old tapes and turn them to digital and the quality is really good. Can that be done with 16mm to DVD as well? If so, how expensive is it?
Thanks for you help.

Using a simple Google search on "16-mm to video conversion":

Don't know anything about this company but it might be a starting point for your expense estimates. -
I've used this company twice.... had excellent results and fast turnaround on 8mm.

And they don't charge extra for sound.... as far as quality. It will be only as good as the original. No matter what company you use!
