My brother-in-law just downloaded some footage from his Panasonic SDR-HS250 harddrive camera onto my computer. We watched it in Windows Media Player and it had sound.
I then pulled it into Video Studio 9 but there's no sound. I've had a dig around in various settings but to no avail.
The files are in Mpeg2 format. Properties of the files are as follows:
Audio Type: Dolby Digital Audio
Attributes: 48,000 Hz, 2/0 LR
Layer: None
Bit Rate: 256 kbps
Any help would be appreciated.
Mark.

I am guessing Video Studio 9 cannot read/play AC3 (Dolby Digital) audio on it's own. You may need a plugin or to install an appropriate codec. AC3 Filter or AC3 ACM Decompressor may be required.

Thanks for that. Now, before I download & try to learn to use such a filter or decompressor (which for me as a novice is quite intimidating), would a regular Videostudio user be kind enough to confirm for sure that Videostudio doesn't support AC3 and that such a download is definitely required? That would be fantastic!
