  1. I have captured lots of home movies using the firewire connection between my camera and PC. I now need to transfer it back so that I can create some S-VHS tapes for relatives. How/which software do I need to copy files back to the Camera using the Firewire connection?

I only have Premier 5.1, Videowave IIISE, Ulead movie factory but none of these provides a export back to camera.

I am reluctant to us video output captures - when I have a Firewire???

    Any advice appreciated.

  3. Thanks for the advice. Is there any other simple programme that does this - because I confess I do not use Premire much!

Premiere export to tape is pretty simple. Just have it export the highlighted area of the timeline. Should be able to use device control to start the camcorder.

I'm not familiar with VideoWave III but I believe that the IV version also has a regular export function.

ULEAD VideoStudio 6 is a good buy and has some great new features. It will export to DV no problem.

you can also use a software package called vegas video. It has a separate application that doesn't have an expiration like the demo does. it can capture from the dv camera, and it can also print back to tape. it can be found in its home directory (vidcap30.exe). as long as you don't uninstall the program it will be there.
