  1. i know you are goinr to tell me to read the "how to" but i have and i have tried tmpg and a few other progs to try and cut this 1.2gb movie in half to burn it to a vcd in tmpg all i get is error messages.PLease can you tell me the easiest way to get this onto a vcd disc.are there easier progs or anything that i can just cut this file in half

  2. Use TMPGEnc 2.53 or higher. In files MPEG Tools MERGE and Cut. See tools for link on this site.

  3. When you are cutting with TMPGEnc, are you choosing the VCD option in the cut/join window or are you choosing system MPEG-1?
    I ask this because I used to have the same problem, but I didn't realize that there would be such a difference(due to the insertion of GOP headers).
    Also, what are you burning with and is it a compliant VCD?

  4. Don't know why but sometimes after splitting with tmpgenc>merge and cut the second half of the vid is screwewd up and you have to re-encode
    It is best to do the splitting before encoding

  5. at the moment i am using tmpg 2.53 and i choose mpeg 1 video cd i can burn it with nero and then play it on my home dvd that supports vcd the file was originaly a avi can i split that with tmpg or do i need other software?

  7. i have vcd cutter as well but when i tried to split it i used devide mpg to multiparts and it would only give me a 1.2mb file can i split the avi file with this as well?

    Split the avi before encoding with tmpgenc>settings>advanced. Now put check in box by source range. Now double click source range from here just set the start and end points and encode as mpeg1vcd.

    i always split when muxing. with bbMPEG. i find thats the best wy.you'd have to mux anyway..
