    Hello!

I just edited, encoded, and authored a short video as I've done many times before. When I went to Imgburn to build & then write, I was surprised to find Imgburn took forever to load and even longer to respond to menu inputs etc. I was able to build & write, but not without problems. Also it took forever to kill it if I wanted out. It just sucked up all the system resources and dragged the whole computer down. Did a complete uninstall/reinstall to no avail. All other applications run just fine. Where do I start looking ????

    Thanks!
    oh the movie never ends...

Thats not a fault with imgburn .

When was the last time you ran system scandisk , and completely defraged the hard drives .

Video editing is a system intensive process , and moving big files about all the time dosent help .

You may even want to run manufacturer's diagnostic tools on the hard drive to confirm all is well with performance .

Shut system down , and remove ide cable from drive and motherboard , then plug back in , firmly , yet carefully ... dont go bending pins .

Sometimes a cable can be a little off with transfers ... they don't last forever .

Check bios and hardware device manager to confirm drives set mode ... primary / secondary ide ata / atapi controllers .
    Advanced settings tab .

Locate and download hijackthis , do system scan , save log , and report back ... you may have other issue causing problem ... Only download imgburn from genuine websites ... their are parasites out their just waiting .

as a P.S. to BJs list, check in Device Manager that your drive is still set for DMA or Ultra DMA --- I've seen reports that system crashes and such-like can cause a drive setting to slip back into (sloooowwww) PIO mode.
