Hi
I'm using a Freeview STB which is going into the S-Video input on my Leadtek FX5600 VIVO, which is then connected to my HDTV via DVI (using either Clone or Dualview mode with Full Screen Video set to my secondary display (the HDTV)).
Using Leadtek's Winfast PVR, recordings are perfectly synced but when using it in preview mode, it drifts so that after about an hour it's very obvious and I have to close and re-open Winfast PVR.
I've tried a few other pieces of software which didn't fare any better. I've just discovered VirtualVCR which I had hoped would be the solution as it has particular settings for audio sync. Unfortunately, when using it the video is not mirrored at all to my HDTV, which just continues to show the desktop.
I was very surprised by this as with every other program I've used that displays video, it gets mirrored to the HDTV, so I thought the graphics card drivers took care of this but there's obviously something about VirtualVCR that prevents this from happening.
I know it would be a lot easier if I just used a Freeview USB dongle (I haven't got any PCI slots to spare), but the few that I've tried have made me appreciate the usablility of my STB as they've been awful. I'd like to get a DigiTV USB box sometime but I can't afford one at the moment, so if anyone can help with this problem I'd be very grateful.
